A CAREER IN TRANSPLANT SURGERY

In this podcast, we interview Professor Lorna Marson, Honorary Consultant Transplant Surgeon and Professor of Transplant Surgery at the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh. Prof. Marson is the current College Dean of Admissions, supervisor of PhD and MD students, and lead for Diversity and Respect for Edinburgh Medical School. She is a past President of the British Transplantation Society and chaired the College of European National Transplant Societies. At ESOT, she is a very active member, with a current EKITA board member position since 2021. 

In this podcast, we discuss the impressive career of Prof. Marson. She highlighted her decision to pursue a career in transplant surgery, combining work and family, being a part-time working trainee, and the importance of mentors in the clinic and academia. Prof. Marson shares her life story and provides insight into her views on medical training and transplant research. She discusses the twists and turns in her surgical training.
